Beaverton Blaze Invite (4/19-20): First Place (5-1)

We finished in 1st place at the Blaze Invitational finishing the tournament with a 5-1 record. We had wins over Thunder (Brown), Tualatin Wolves, Blaze '95, Scorpions, and Wildcats. Our one loss was to the Attack in international tiebreaker.

VGSA Invitational (4/24-26): First Place Gold (5-1)

We finished in 1st place at the April VGSA tournament.  We finished with a 5-1 record with wins over Angels, Thunder (Brown), Rip City, Tsunamis, and Thunder '95. Our one loss was to Thunder '95. We had three perfect games in the tournament and won the last four games by mercy rule. Total runs scored 35.  Total runs given up 2.

VGSA Memorial Weekend Tournament (5/22-26): Second Place (8-2)

We finished in 2nd place at the Memorial Weekend tournament at VGSA. We finished with an 8-2 record with wins over the Vipers, Willamette Valley Fastpitch, Longview Tsunamis, KC Heartbreakers '95,  Acers '95, Thunder '94 and Thunder '95. We lost to Thunder '95 and in the finals to the Ladysharks.

VGSA 16U Invitational Tournament (5/29-31): Fourth Place Gold (3-3)

We finished 4th in the Gold pool at the VGSA 16U Invitational Tournament. After winning our first pool, we played the next four games in the top pool. We found that we need to compete harder to keep up with some very good 16A teams especially the Sherwood Fireballs who beat us twice during the weekend.

Aloha 16U Invitational Tournament (6/6-7): First Place Silver (5-1)

The Aloha invitational did not start very well for us. The Panthers beat us up pretty hard in the first game. After that, we started to play much better and ran off a five game winning streak with games against several quality 16A teams. A parent from one of the opposing teams found it hard to believe that our starting infield was 4 8th graders and a freshman.

Valley Invitational (6/20-21): Fifth Place 18A/16A Division (5-1)

After a strong Saturday with wins over Aftershox, Tri City Heat (who won the 16A division) and Blaze Fusion, we "earned" an opportunity to play in the combined 16A/18A bracket (top 8 16A teams from the field of 54). We beat a couple 18A teams on Sunday morning before the Oregon Elite (another 16A team) reminded us that we still have some growing to do.

14A Northwest Regional National Qualifier: 2nd Place (3-2)

We earned our berth to Georgia on Saturday with wins over Walla Walla and the Lobos. Sunday morning, after a great "reward" trip to the water park started very well with a win over the Ladyhawks. Then we played Walla Walla who made a strong run through the losers bracket on Saturday and Sunday. They beat us soundly in both games with some great hitting. We never like to lose, but the Xtreme is a great team and a class act. See you in Georgia!

14A Colorado Fireworks: 4th Place (8-3)

It was a long week and we grew tremendously as a team. We went 3-1 in pool play with wins over teams from North Carolina, Arizona and Colorado. Our one loss was a close game against the Houston Power. We hit the ball reasonably well... right at the outfielders. In bracket play we won our first four games in the winners bracket making it to the final four. A loss to the Ladysharks in the quarterfinals put us in the losers bracket. On Saturday morning we had a slugfest with a very tired Arizona Storm team and came out on top. But the tank was empty and Texas Glory showed us what a real power hitting team can do. We go to these tournaments to find teams that can beat us so we see what is possible; this tournament was perfect for that.

16A Cooper Memorial Tournament: 2nd Place (4-1)

Nice tune up for Nationals. We hit well all weekend including a couple home runs and demonstrated a willingness to fight back when a good team hits us hard.
